black xx
“BLK XX” by Nature Boi is a two track EP centered around love, admiration, and protection of Black women through the perspective of a son, brother, lover, and friend. The title speaks directly to loving Black women down to the chromosomes. Not surface-level admiration. Real love. Real gratitude. Born Supreme’s feature adds grit and balance with his raspy tone and grounded delivery, while Jade’s vocals bring warmth and emotion that soften the edges of the records in all the right places.
“BLK WMN” (prod. MvrkHenry) and “LAURYN” (prod. Nature Boi) feel rooted in real relationships, real conversations, and real appreciation — which is probably why so much of the feedback connected to the sincerity of the records. Black women called the songs affirming, soulful, thoughtful, and compared the feeling to summertime cookouts, A Tribe Called Quest, and early Wu-Tang at their most reflective.Musically, the records lean into warm production, live feeling textures, and clear writing.
